How M3V from Sweden 3D printed a Porsche 944

M3V from Sweden is specialized in the construction of custom decor and film props. They are not only making the decors and props, but also dothe whole design process. In 2023 M3V invested in a brand new Extreme 1500 PRO for upcoming projects.

One of the biggest 3D print projects M3V has been working on so far is the making of a Porsche 944 for the musical Joyride. The request was to make a light weight, realistic model and a slightly smaller version of this specific car. The car also had to be on a metal frame including wheels so it could be driven on stage easily for specific scenes. After M3V made the 3D model of the car, it was time for printing. For efficient printing, the car was cut into 15 sections.  This minimizes support material, so less waste and also reduces the printing time. The head lights were 3D printed on a desktop machine, but all other parts were 3D printed on the Extreme 1500 PRO. After printing, all parts were sanded by hand and glued together. After a few layers or primer and some more sanding, the car has been painted resulting in an amazing end product.

The musical Joyride will première 6 September and can be seen until 27 September 2025.
