Colour Mixing

What do you need?

In order to be able to use colour mixing, you need the following:

  1. One of our Builder 3D printers as the colour mixing tool is only available for Builder users. It doesn't matter which machine you have, all Builder printers are able to print colour-mixed objects.
  2. PLA which is able to mix. We recommand using Builder PLA as it is customised for mixing and is designed for our 3D printers.
  3. G-code of your object. You need a G-code to upload it into our color mixing software.
  4. Color mix software. Download the color mix tool here: Color mix tool
  5. A password to activate the colour mix tool. Request one by sending an email to sales@builder3dprinters.com

All Builder 3D printers come with a free color mix password.

The color mix tool only works on Windows.

How does it work?

We have developed software which allows you to change the active percentage of both extruders in your G-code while printing. For example, printing from 100% yellow (bottom) to 100% pink (top) will create a gradually orange hybrid. The best way to explain how colour mixing works is to compare it with toothpaste tube. It is like squeezing 2 colours through 1 opening.
